    Production Process Sintered PTFE Filter

    1 Raw material preparation

Pure PTFE powder is used, sieved and premixed.

    2 Press molding

Fill the powder into the mold and preform it into tube or bar embryo under high temperature (50-80℃) and high pressure.

    3 Sintering process
Drying zone (100-250℃): remove solvent oil and other impurities.
Sintering zone (350-400 ℃): high-temperature molten particles, forming a uniform porous structure.
Cooling zone: Slowly cool down to room temperature to prevent cracking.
    4 Post-treatment
Etching (optional): Enhance surface properties (e.g. anti-adhesion) by chemical treatment.
Cleaning and testing: Removal of residues and testing for airtightness and accuracy.

    Advantages Sintered PTFE Filter

    1 Corrosion resistance

Resistant to strong acids (e.g. sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid), strong bases and organic solvents.

    2 High temperature stability

Long-term working temperature up to 200℃, support steam sterilization.

3 High porosity and flow rate

porosity of more than 50%, fluid flux is 30% higher than metal cartridge.

    4 Easy to clean

smooth surface like wax, impurities are not easy to adhere to, can be repeatedly cleaned and regenerated.

    5 No risk of degranulation

smooth inner and outer surfaces, no particles falling off to contaminate the fluid.

    6 Ozone resistance

suitable for ozone sterilization environment (such as pharmaceutical, food industry).

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Sintered PTFE Filter?

A Sintered PTFE Filter is a porous filtration element made by sintering pure polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) powder. This process bonds the particles without melting them, creating a highly durable, chemically resistant, and thermally stable filter structure.

What is the operating temperature range for Sintered PTFE Filters?

Sintered PTFE filters can operate continuously in temperature environments ranging from -190°C to 260°C. They can also withstand short-term temperature peaks of up to 300°C.

Are Sintered PTFE Filters resistant to strong acids and bases?

Yes, PTFE is known for its near-total chemical inertness. Sintered PTFE filters offer outstanding corrosion resistance and can withstand strong acids (like sulfuric and hydrochloric acid), strong bases, and aggressive organic solvents.

Can Sintered PTFE Filters be cleaned and reused?

Yes. Their smooth, wax-like surface prevents impurities from strongly adhering to the filter. They can be repeatedly cleaned, backwashed, or chemically sterilized, allowing for multiple regenerations and a long service life.

Is there any risk of particle shedding with Sintered PTFE Filters?

No. Sintered PTFE filters have highly stable structures with smooth inner and outer surfaces. There is no risk of degranulation or media migration, ensuring that no filter particles contaminate your process fluid.
