Durable PE Rod for Impact Strength - China Suppliers & Factory for Industrial Applications

Polyethylene (PE) rods are top-quality thermoplastic materials produced from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). Renowned for their high crystallinity, non-polar nature, and exceptional corrosion resistance, these rods are both non-toxic and eco-friendly, making them safe for various applications. With a milky white appearance and translucent cross-section, PE rods are designed to perform in a diverse range of environments, enduring temperatures from -70℃ to 100℃. As leading suppliers and manufacturers in China, our factory specializes in providing PE rods that cater to industrial, medical, and agricultural sectors, ensuring durable and reliable solutions for all your needs

    Parameter of pe rod

    Parameters Description
Material High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) or Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE)
    Density 0.93-0.97 g/cm³ (HDPE); 0.93-0.97 g/cm³ (UHMWPE)
    Temperature Resistance Range -70℃~100℃
Tensile Strength ≥20 MPa (HDPE); UHMWPE is more impact resistant
    Water Absorption <0.01% (Very Low)
Chemical Resistance Acid and alkali resistance (not resistant to strong oxidizing acids such as concentrated nitric acid)
Electrical Insulation Excellent, suitable for electrical equipment
Color Milk white, other colors are available
Standard Size Diameter range: 5mm~500mm; length can be customized

    Production process of pe rod

    1. Raw material preparation

Select HDPE or UHMWPE pellets, drying treatment (temperature ≤ 80 ℃) to remove moisture.

    2. Extrusion molding

Heating and plasticizing by twin-screw extruder, temperature is controlled in stages (160℃→220℃), and the mold is designed to ensure smooth flow path.

    3. Cooling and sizing

Vacuum sizing tank to control the outer diameter, spray water cooling (water temperature 10~25℃) to reduce internal stress.

    4. Traction cutting

The traction speed is synchronized with the extrusion, and the precision cutting equipment ensures that the length error is ≤1mm.

    5. Inspection and Packaging

On-line testing of wall thickness, outer diameter, sampling for hydrostatic test (such as GB/T 6111 standard).

    Advantages of pe rod

    1. Chemical stability

Resistant to most acid and alkali corrosion (except strong oxidizers), suitable for chemical industry, sewage treatment and other environments.

    2. Physical Properties

Abrasion resistance 4 times that of steel, high impact resistance (elongation at break >500%), excellent low temperature toughness.

    3. Light weight and safety

Low density, convenient handling; non-toxic and harmless, in line with food grade and medical standards.

    4. Flexible processing

Support electric welding, heat welding and other connection methods, customized size and color.

    Application of pe rod

    1. Industrial manufacturing
    • Seals, sliding profiles: used for wear-resistant parts of mechanical equipment (e.g. cutting plates, bearings).
    • Chemical piping: corrosion-resistant transportation piping (gas, sewage).
    2. Medical field
    • Medical appliances: Surgical instrument parts, catheters (e.g. PE vascular cannulae).
    3. Agriculture and Municipal
    • Irrigation system: weather-resistant, suitable for agricultural drip irrigation.
    • Water supply and drainage pipes: smooth inner wall, high circulation efficiency.
    4. Electricity & Communication
    • Insulation material: Bakelite board, cable protection sleeve.

    In Summary

With its corrosion resistance, high abrasion resistance, light weight and other characteristics, PE rod has become an ideal material in many fields. The production process focuses on precision control, and the product parameters can be flexibly adapted to the demand, which is widely used in industrial, medical, agricultural and other fields.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What are the primary differences between HDPE and UHMWPE rods?

While both share a similar density range (0.93-0.97 g/cm³), UHMWPE rods possess a significantly higher molecular weight, providing superior impact resistance and wear resistance compared to standard HDPE rods.

What is the working temperature range for PE rods?

PE rods have an excellent temperature resistance range of -70℃ to 100℃, making them highly reliable in extreme cold environments and moderate heat conditions.

Are PE rods resistant to chemical corrosion?

Yes, PE rods offer outstanding chemical stability. They are highly resistant to most acids and alkalis, although they are not recommended for use with strong oxidizing acids like concentrated nitric acid.

Can PE rods be used in food processing or medical applications?

Absolutely. PE rods are non-toxic, odorless, and harmless. They comply with food-grade and medical standards, making them safe for food contact components and medical instruments like catheters.

What size ranges are available for PE rods?

The standard diameter range for PE rods is between 5mm and 500mm, and the length can be fully customized according to specific project requirements.
