Production process Sintered PTFE Filter
1 Raw material preparation
Pure PTFE powder is used, sieved and premixed.
2 Press molding
Fill the powder into the mold and preform it into tube or bar embryo under high temperature (50-80℃) and high pressure.
3 Sintering process
- Drying zone (100-250℃): remove solvent oil and other impurities.
- Sintering zone (350-400 ℃): high-temperature molten particles, forming a uniform porous structure.
- Cooling zone: Slowly cool down to room temperature to prevent cracking.
4 Post-treatment
- Etching (optional): Enhance surface properties (e.g. anti-adhesion) by chemical treatment.
- Cleaning and testing: Removal of residues and testing for airtightness and accuracy.
Advantages Sintered PTFE Filter
1 Corrosion resistance
Resistant to strong acids (e.g. sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid), strong bases and organic solvents.
2 High temperature stability
Long-term working temperature up to 200℃, support steam sterilization.
3 High porosity and flow rate
Porosity of more than 50%, fluid flux is 30% higher than metal cartridge.
4 Easy to clean
Smooth surface like wax, impurities are not easy to adhere to, can be repeatedly cleaned and regenerated.
5 No risk of degranulation
Smooth inner and outer surfaces, no particles falling off to contaminate the fluid.
6 Ozone resistance
Suitable for ozone sterilization environment (such as pharmaceutical, food industry).

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the temperature limit for Sintered PTFE Filters?
Sintered PTFE Filters operate efficiently within a temperature range of -190°C to 260°C, and can withstand short-term exposure up to 300°C.
How do Sintered PTFE Filters compare to metal cartridges in terms of flow rate?
Sintered PTFE Filters have a high porosity of 30% to 55%, which allows for a fluid flux that is approximately 30% higher than standard metal cartridges.
Are Sintered PTFE Filters resistant to strong chemicals?
Yes, they offer exceptional corrosion resistance, making them fully resistant to strong acids (such as sulfuric and hydrochloric acid), strong bases, and diverse organic solvents.
How are Sintered PTFE Filters cleaned and maintained?
Due to their smooth, wax-like surface, impurities do not easily adhere to the filters. They can be repeatedly cleaned, backwashed, and chemically regenerated without damaging the structure.
Is there a risk of particle shedding during filtration?
No. Sintered PTFE Filters feature smooth inner and outer surfaces with no risk of degranulation, ensuring no particles fall off to contaminate the filtered fluid.
In which industries are Sintered PTFE Filters most commonly used?
They are widely used in the pharmaceutical industry (water for injection, sterile air), chemical processing (catalyst and acid/alkali filtration), food & beverage (clarification and purification), electronics, and environmental wastewater treatment.
